MARKETING THING:
To all the marketing people who read this: Are y’all doing ok?
The folks at BBH Labs made this deck back in late March, but it truly needs to be read by anyone working in marketing at any brand right now, ESPECIALLY if you work in-house. COVID-19 isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, you need to adjust your strategy if you haven’t already.
They say it themselves: “We encourage you to steal as much of this as you need.”

CULTURE THING:
Last week, InsideHook wrote about the potential return of #menswear. For those who weren’t around, the term "#menswear," was a cultural movement built and created on Tumblr and spread across the world. Back in 2010, when Tumblr was truly popping and the #menswear hashtag took off. Tumblr even sent #menswearbloggers to cover New York Fashion Week in 2011, a tactic that now seems to be the status quo.
To me, the movement took off because it allowed for men’s fashion to evolve somewhat. My generation wasn’t trying to sit on one of the classic men’s style forums like Ask Andy about Clothes or StyleForum to get scolded about buying Allen Edmonds or some shit. At the peak, the #menswear movement popularized a few trends and brands that still define how some guys dress today. For example, I don’t think we have the dad hat explosion of the 2010s or upstart brands like Rowing Blazers without #menswear.
There’s a few articles about the subject that have been published recently. Read them all for a broader context into the cultural effect #menswear had on men’s fashion, even today.
